Five underestimated women from The Walking Dead
Beth
Beth had small beginnings as Maggie’s half younger sister when we first met her on Hershel’s farm in season 2. After her failed suicide attempt, she survived the walker invasion of her father’s farm and became a member of Rick’s group.
While living in the prison she looked after baby Judith constantly and acquired short-term boyfriend Zach. It was when the prison fell and she escaped with Daryl that Beth stepped up and proved herself worthy of this list.
Spending time with Daryl she learned how to use his crossbow and developed her tracking skills. She became more independent and enjoyed Daryl’s company.
When the two separated, Daryl got reunited with Rick while Beth woke up in Grady Memorial Hospital. Using her wits and innocence as a weapon she was able to eliminate one of the unruly police officers when she felt violated, help new friend Noah escape, save Carol’s life when she was brought in and above all proved her worth.
Unfortunately, Beth was killed before her prime at the hospital in Coda back in season 5, leaving Daryl and fans shocked. Beth’s acquired medical knowledge and experience at Grady Memorial Hospital would have been a great service to the group at Alexandria.
Considering anyone with medical experience is a rarity, Beth could have taken the role of a nurse or nurse in training under Denise’s wings.
