Rick/Michonne, Carol/King Ezekiel, and Alden/Maggie

Rick and Michonne’s love blossomed turning the duo into an unstoppable team. However, Negan became the unsuspecting wrench often being the reason for conflict between the two.

After Carl’s death, their bond was further strained until the season finale. Rick and Michonne may finally be back on track.

Rick acknowledged Michonne’s attempts to comfort him during Carl’s death and Michonne took her side next to Rick when he ordered for Negan to be spared. The King and Queen of the apocalypse still have a long way to go rebuilding Alexandria with more people to feed than before.

Their relationship may be in for the ultimate test depending on what Maggie intends to do. It may be too soon to be considering children with Judith and Gracie to care for however it would be a pleasant sight to see Michonne and Rick have one of their own.

Carol and King Ezekiel might have started off on opposite ends of the spectrum when it came to almost everything but over time he was beginning to win her over. King Ezekiel’s attempts to court Carol were delightful and not long after they began to trust each other.

All Out War did create disagreements, especially after the loss of Shiva. Now that the war is over will Carol return to Alexandria or revisit the remnants of The Kingdom with King Ezekiel?

Carol fought alongside King Ezekiel’s warriors the majority of the season possibly making her an ambassador for Rick at The Kingdom. The two can return to their friendship where anything is possible.

Alden and Maggie might be a stretch considering neither have confessed any feelings towards the other aside from gratitude as work together against Negan. Alden was a captured savior who spent most of his time in the makeshift outdoor prison trying to help Maggie.

Any suspicions that Alden was untrustworthy have been removed as Maggie appears grateful to have him on her side. Will this trust become something more?

Maggie obtained several new allies from The Hilltop and The Kingdom, however, Alden may become the one she’s more comfortable being around. He may be the voice of reason is she decides to pull through with her revenge against Rick.
