Will Oceanside join the other communities?

Oceanside had little to no screen time since Rick arrived to steal the majority of their weapons to use in the fight against Negan. Tara broke her promise in a moment of desperation to save her friends and led them to the community of women.

They refused to join Rick to fight the Saviors, losing all of their men to them some time ago. After Enid and Aaron’s failed attempt to try once again to get the community of women to join them it looked like they rather remain to themselves.

Luckily they arrived to protect The Hilltop from preying Saviors during the season 8 finale. Where does this leave them now?

Oceanside, conveniently stationed near the ocean ready has the advantage of being nearly hidden from sight while being situated by a constant food source. With the previous leader Natania killed by Enid, while trying to save Aaron, Cyndie looks to be the next in command.

Previously she and Tara had a mutual understanding of the seriousness of The Saviors even wanting to help Tara in the fight. Natania, however, refused to get involved.

Will Cyndie and Tara’s friendship grow into something more? Perhaps Tara will remain at Oceanside and be the point of contact between them and Alexandria.
