Way Too Anticlimactic

The first reason Madison could still be alive is by far the easiest one. With all of the signs pointing to her being dead, isn’t that just a bit too easy? Why would the showrunners give us obvious hints that she’s dead, only to have her really be dead?

Where’s the fun in that?

It doesn’t make sense for Madison to be dead in the present. From a storytelling standpoint, it would have been far easier for the sake of the narrative to simply say she was dead much sooner, rather than draw it out this far. (I know that some fans feel like both Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead have both been guilty about drawing out stories too far, which is a valid criticism of the past; I agree that it has happened before, but I personally don’t see that happening here.)

My money is on Madison being alive, and we will see her in the present when the story catches up to wherever it is she has been all this time.
