Madison Needs A Moment

Another possibility is that Madison needed to go off on her own. She has been through a lot, and at one point she was about to lose her kids when they didn’t agree with her decisions.

Nick and Alicia have both grown a lot and they saw things differently at Broke Jaw Ranch. Madison saw the Ranch as the be-all, end-all in terms of shelters, and she was willing to do anything to keep her family there. Nick and Alicia didn’t agree, and they were both close to leaving over the course of their stay. Nick already had a history with walking away, which is how he ended up at La Colonia.

Madison has been fighting since the first season to stay alive and protect her family. There are some fans who would critique her decision making (I’m still mad at how she handled the Resort…she blew a golden opportunity there) But to her credit, she has been working very hard with no rest.

Maybe she needed a break. Maybe this time it was Madison who walked away for a while.
