He’s Loyal

John Dorie is the kind of person who would have your back in any situation. He barely knew Morgan at all, but he went off to help him on multiple occasions. Once you’re a friend, you’re a friend for life.

Loyalty is important in this brave new world. It’s hard to trust anyone when you have to watch your back while you sleep and you don’t know where your next meal will come from.

John has demonstrated that he will share his resources with anyone in his circles. He didn’t have to offer anything to Morgan and Naomi, but he did. He offered them food, shelter, and companionship. If they wanted to talk, he talked. If they wanted companionable silence, that’s what he gave them.

And once he knew Morgan and Laura (Naomi), he put his life on the line to help them, even taking a bullet for Naomi when her life was in danger. He’s willing to trust people, but he also knows when he has to be careful, and in this case he’s looking out for his friends because he doesn’t know who the real villains are because Alicia’s group looks to be just as untrustworthy as the Vultures.
