Despite all the current doom and gloom, The Walking Dead has enough talent to survive through the AMC show’s 10th season and well beyond!

Lately, there has been a lot of negativity surrounding The Walking Dead. With AMC’s version of All-Out War failing to meet viewer expectations and ratings on the decline, fans and media moved into an all-out panic mode.

Now, with the news that Lauren Cohan will have a limited role in season 9 and reports that Andrew Lincoln will make the show’s ninth season his last piling on top of killing off Carl Grimes in season 8, fans are wondering about the direction and quality of the show moving forward.

There is little doubt that the show will be different without Rick and Carl Grimes as the focus and losing Maggie would be a big hit to The Hilltop, but there are plenty of strong cast members and great storylines that can keep the show afloat for many years to come.

Once the initial scare wears off, fans will remember about talented actors on AMC’s zombie survival drama who can help to shoulder the load and help the show stay as the most popular scripted drama series on television.

Whether talking about Melissa McBride, Tom Payne, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam or any of the other talented cast members, it’s hard to imagine the show taking such a downward plunge after losing a few longtime members of the cast.

While the story will need to deviate greatly from the comic book source material, this means some new energy and unique storylines can be interjected to give the series a fresh feel and a new purpose, much like AMC did with Fear The Walking Dead during season 4.

These new plot devices and character interactions should keep fans interested enough in the series to keep watching well into season 10 and beyond, but there will always be those naysayers who won’t be willing to give the show a fair shake to survive outside of what is known.

Fans should embrace the change. Instead of being angry about their favorite characters not being on the show anymore, viewers should be thankful they got such a long run with great actors on a zombie show that few believed would become a worldwide phenomenon.

The key here is to just relax and enjoy the ride. The Walking Dead still has a lot of stories they want to tell regarding the survivors. With a talented cast and some creative writing, it has a chance to refresh itself the way it couldn’t in the past, and that’s something that should be fun to watch unfold.
