Fear The Walking Dead, Just In Case: Things To Note
By Liam O'Leary
1) During their confrontation, John shoots off Edgar’s (The Vulture’s) finger. While we’ve seen characters lose hands, eyes, feet, legs, and arms, this might be the first case of someone losing a finger in either Walking Dead show.
2) During the title sequence, you can see what appears to be an SUV (Maybe the SWAT truck?) in the background.
3) As they’re discussing the planned attack on The Vultures, Strand asks Althea if she thinks she can be neutral during it. In a funny coincidence, this question is a theme for George A. Romero’s Diary Of The Dead, obviously, part of his series of zombie films which inspired The Walking Dead.
4) On a side note, throughout our run-ins with The Vultures in this episode, they still don’t refer to themselves as “The Vultures” (Or anything, for that matter). It makes you wonder what name, if any, they have for themselves.
5) During his interrogation, Edgar tells John he joined The Vultures after The Diamond fell. Assuming that’s true (Which I doubt), that, once again, raises the question of how long it’s been between The Diamond’s downfall and the present.
6) Among other things (But, this one came first), this episode gets its name from John trying to give Morgan his pistols, so as to avoid killing anyone, “Just in case“, he says.
7) According to Strand, Madison retrieved him after relocating Alicia and Nick, but before finding Luciana. He also mentions being temporarily immobilized. Will we see any flashbacks of this during this season?
