The mid-season finale of Fear the Walking Dead is upon us and everything has been left out on the line, making it clear that there’s no turning back now.

Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead has been a game changer for the series. Everything we have seen so far has been leading to this point; the dueling timelines will come together and hopefully we’ll learn more about Madison’s fate. With all of the cards out on the table, there is no turning back for Fear the Walking Dead.

“The Wrong Side of Where You Are Now” featured a key moment when Morgan joined with Naomi to save John Dorie’s life. In making that one decision to join Naomi, who was Alicia’s intended target, Morgan crossed the line that had been drawn in the sand. Later, Morgan recruited Althea to take them to the Stadium, and to top it all off Morgan invited Charlie to join them, despite knowing that she was the one who killed Nick. There was already an air of mistrust between the two groups, and it’s hard to believe that they would ever be able to come back together at this point.

Alicia, Strand and Luciana are out for blood. They have it out for the Vultures (though we still don’t know why) and Naomi is also a target for Alicia’s rage. Something bad happened to this group for them to have so much rage focused at the Vultures and Naomi, and now that Morgan and Althea have seemingly sided with Naomi any trust they might have developed is gone.

And then there are the Vultures. The Vultures unleashed the Infected upon the Stadium in episode 407, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that something else happened. Mel made it seem like he knew Naomi, but she insisted that things were not as they seemed.

With the stage set for the mid-season finale, there’s no going back now. There are three groups out there and none of them have any reason to trust the others. Alicia, Strand and Luciana won’t stop until the Vultures are eradicated, and with Naomi now traveling with Team Morgan it’s likely that they’ll come after them too.

As the timelines merge hopefully Morgan’s group has a chance to understand the history, which may help to ease some of the tension somehow. A resolution is very unlikely given the level of hostility coming from Alicia, and all of that tension is coming to a head in the mid-season finale of Fear the Walking Dead.
