Fear The Walking Dead wrapped up the first half of a stunning reboot season with a shocking midseason finale. But not everyone made it out alive.

Fear The Walking Dead is the strongest it’s ever been thanks to a soft reboot and the addition of several new characters as well important development for the existing characters. The storyline, as well as the new look and feel of the show, have elevated the drama from pretty good to outstanding.

The first half of season 4 wrapped up with a fantastic midseason finale ‘No One’s Gone’ which finally revealed Madison’s fate. Madison sacrificed herself to save her family, dying for them just the way that she lived for them. As the army of the dead closed in on Alicia and Nick in the car in the stadium parking lot Victor and Madison ran out to try and help them.

When Mel took the car and drove off, leaving them in the midst of the swarm, Madison lit a flare and led the entire horde into the stadium. She locked the gate, closing herself in with the massive herd of walkers. Then she used the flare to light an enormous fire to burn the walkers, killing herself in the process to give the people she loved a chance to get away.

Another OG character of Fear The Walking Dead has fallen. And now Alicia is the only member of the Clark family left standing. Or is she?

No One’s Gone Until They’re Gone

From the beginning Madison Clark has been the driving force on Fear The Walking Dead. Her devotion to her kids and her desire to protect them has driven the story, propelled the characters through an emotional journey, and revealed what a multi-faceted character Madison was.

Fear The Walking Dead doesn’t shy away from killing off characters. And just like on The Walking Dead no one is ever totally safe. But it was a shock to lose the larger than life matriarch of the Clark clan and her influence will continue to drive Alicia and the others as the show moves forward.

Rest in peace Madison Clark. You went out the same way you lived: doing whatever it took to protect your kids. You will be greatly missed.
