Rick, Daryl, Glenn, Abraham, and Negan are some household names on The Walking Dead. They are not the only ones who made an impact on the hit AMC series.

From the first time, fans saw Rick mercifully kill the “bicycle girl” walker to the time Daryl handled a rocket launcher like it was his job; the leading men of The Walking Dead have easily earned their status as some of the strongest and most memorable. Season 8 alone proved that Carl was capable of being a leader himself one day if it weren’t for his unfortunate fate.

There have been many times audiences watched in horror and excitement as their favorite character, hero and villain alike try to survive the apocalypse while dodging other threats. While Rick stands tall as the leader of his group, having defeated Negan and his Saviors, there have been other men throughout the eight seasons of The Walking Dead worth remembering.

Some of these men were not only leaders themselves but motivating teachers, loyal friends and some with great promise taken too soon. Whether they died staying true to their ideals and morals or in the chaos of battle these men made their mark and instilled some interesting thoughts on other characters and audiences.

A multitude of men deserve more recognition for their part on AMC’s The Walking Dead, however, 5 characters are overlooked far too often and earned a place on the list of most underappreciated males.

The list is organized in chronological order of the character’s appearance on the show and kicks off with a hippie who stole two scenes.
