The Walking Dead returns to San Diego Comic-Con with a panel in Hall H, and there are a few things we’re hoping to see in this year’s panel.

Normally there is more buzz about a show while it’s airing, but it has been a busy offseason for The Walking Dead as it heads into the show’s ninth season. With as-yet unconfirmed reports that Andrew Lincoln is leaving and Lauren Cohan taking on another series, the TWD Family has been following the news hoping for some kind of clarification about what’s to come. The cast and crew of The Walking Dead is set to return to San Diego Comic-Con in July, and we’re hoping that we get some news straight from the source.

There’s no denying that the news of Lincoln’s departure has been hanging heavily over the TWD Family as of late. New showrunner Angela Kang confirmed that there will be a time jump in season 9, too, which leads us to wonder what will happen when the show returns.

Here are the five things we’re hoping to learn from The Walking Dead panel at SDCC.

5. Special Guests For Season 9

It’s really hard to keep a secret in the world of The Walking Dead. Jon Bernthal has already been spotted in Georgia and he will have some role in season 9, even though the character he played, Shane, has been dead for some time now. With Bernthal back, who else might we see in season 9?

Though surprises are nice, maybe the showrunners will drop a few names to keep people from freaking out when they see Steven Yeun or Chandler Riggs in Atlanta.
