David Morrissey is known by fans of The Walking Dead as The Governor, but soon he can be seen on the upcoming Amazon six-part series titled Good Omens.

The Walking Dead did a great job bringing The Governor to life during the AMC adaptation of the popular comic book series. The best thing the showrunners did was cast David Morrissey in the role when needing a charismatic and unstable community leader willing to do anything to keep himself safe and in power.

Morrissey brought that character to life in a way that showed off the charm and cut-throat nature of The Governor and made the face-to-face showdowns with his character unpredictable and intense.

While Morrissey is no longer on AMC’s zombie survival drama series, he continues to work on amazing projects like Britannia, The Missing, Extant and The City and the City. However, soon he can be seen in an upcoming Amazon series according to TVLine.

Titled Good Omens, the six-part series will tell the story of Armageddon as it is handled poorly by an angel, a demon, an Antichrist who is 11 years old, and a doom-saying witch.

David Morrissey will play Captain Vincent in the adaptation of the novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman, which also features Doctor Who actor David Tennant, Mad Men star Jon Hamm, Nina Sosanya from Love Actually and Michael Sheen from Masters of Sex.
