Preparation #2: Recruit the best people you know.

While you’re laying your plan for the zombie apocalypse, you should seriously consider who you would want to try to survive with. Who you survive with can often be extremely important to how well you survive.

If you know people who have useful skills, things like hunting, fishing, farming, weapons proficiency, hand-to-hand combat, mechanics, carpentry, field medicine, foreign languages, etc., they can teach you these skills, so that, should they die or you become separated from them, you will have the skills you need to keep yourself alive.

Furthermore, I would imagine that if you do know people with such skills, they’re probably friends or even family members. If you include them in your zombie apocalypse plan, it means that one of the worst stresses of a zombie apocalypse, not knowing where your loved ones are, can be alleviated. If your friends and family are with you when the outbreak hits, you don’t need to worry about their fate quite so much.

So, while you’re making your zombie apocalypse plan, make sure to coordinate with your family and especially with any friends you might have who possess any of the skills I mentioned. Sometimes the only way a good plan works is by having the best team to execute it.
