SDCC: The Walking Dead fans organize a ‘We Are Negan’ cosplay contest
A group of Negan fans organized a Negan photoshoot at San Diego Comic-Con to celebrate The Walking Dead and the real “king” of SDCC.
The Walking Dead fans wanted to show their TWD Family spirit and Skybound took notice, sponsoring their San Diego Comic-Con Negan cosplay meetup and costume contest. Skybound offered the meetup’s organizers, The Lovely Ladies Lucille, use of their San Diego Comic-Con venue and provided prizes for contest winners as part of their own celebration of the release of The Quotable Negan on July 3.
Members of the TWD Family who enjoy cosplay and happen to be in San Diego on July 21 are invited to join in the fun with a Negan-themed photo shoot and costume contest at the Harbor House Restaurant in Seaport Village from 12-3pm. (The event takes place outside of the San Diego Convention Center, which means a SDCC badge is not required for admission)
Here are details about the event, straight from the group’s Facebook page:
"WE ARE NEGAN You know him, You ♥ him (well maybe that’s just us) But we all love a good NEGAN sighting at The ConSo JOIN USand lets show those Deadpools, Slave Leias & Dragon Queens, who’s the REAL KING OF THE CON All NEGAN’S & Lucille’s are welcome Gender bent, mash ups, Comic book, young, old, undeadDust off your boots & bandannas and come BE NEGAN"
The actual Negan photo shoot takes place at 12:45, followed by pictures with all Walking Dead cosplayers in attendance.
SDCC hosts a variety of cosplay photoshoots for many fandoms including Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Marvel, DC Comics and Disney characters. Fans dressed in their finest cosplays show up at the designated time and take a group photograph, often breaking into subgroups like heroes and villains, female and male characters, or even couples within the fandom for separate photo shoots. With The Walking Dead you can imagine that in addition to the Negan cosplayers, there will be lots of Team Family cosplayers mixed in with characters from the show’s past and present. When seen together, there’s no doubt it will look like one big family reunion.

It’s great to know that The Walking Dead will be represented at SDCC, and that Skybound is giving the group some support in organizing the event.
