Michael Cudlitz was a smash as Abraham Ford on The Walking Dead and the amazing actor is rumored to be going behind the camera for a season 9 episode.

Fans love Michael Cudlitz. Whether he is playing Abraham on The Walking Dead, bringing smiles to everyone at conventions, or lighting up the screen in roles on other great shows like Southland and Band of Brothers or taking to the big screen in movies such as Grosse Pointe Blank and Surrogates, the charismatic actor in entertaining and endearing.

However, the exit of his character from AMC’s zombie survival drama series was a brutal one. Fans will vividly remember the moment when Negan chose Abraham from the lineup and bashed his head in with a barbed wire baseball bat named Lucille in the premiere episode of season 7.

Since then, Abraham returned to the show for a fantasy scene showing everyone sharing a meal together at the end of season 7 and again in flashbacks when Sasha was meeting her demise. But now Cudlitz is rumored to be making another return to The Walking Dead in a different way.

According to a post on Comicbook.com, the word on the street is that Michael Cudlitz will indeed be a part of the popular undead program for season 9, but will be moving behind the camera to take on a directorial role.

The site states they have learned from “sources involved with the show” that the former Abraham Ford actor will be directing the seventh episode of season 9. However, this has yet to be officially reported by AMC in any official capacity.

Even though this means fans won’t be getting any new and awesome Abraham catchphrases like “Who’s Deanna?”, “Loose ends make my ass itch.”, and “Dolphin Smooth”, it’s refreshing to know that someone that has been so close to the hearts of viewers will have an impact on the upcoming season.
