The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners will deliver a VR experience from Skydance Interactive in a partnership with Skybound Entertainment.

The Walking Dead is getting another virtual reality game from Skydance Interactive alongside the long-developed VR standalone from Payday developer Overkill Software. The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is set in a flooded iteration of New Orleans as they deal with other struggling survivors.

The game’s name comes from the concept of “Will you choose to be a saint or a sinner?” According to Skybound, there will be a teaser during The Walking Dead’s livestream on Twitch on Saturday, July 21 at 4:00 pm PT (7:00 p.m. ET).

Those currently attending San Diego Comic Con will be able to view teaser art and a visualized “come-to-life” setting over at Harbor House Restaurant from now through July 21. You can sign up for The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners newsletter right on the official website.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners Official Game Description:

"Set in the flooded remains of New Orleans, the game will challenge players to make their way through the iconic quarters, as they explore what has become a brutal, unforgiving wasteland. Players will have to deal with others struggling to survive in what remains of this once vibrant city. In the world of The Walking Dead, the walkers are the least of your problems. Will you choose the path of a saint, or that of a sinner? You have watched and played in the world of The Walking Dead, now, get ready to Live it."

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners currently has a TBA release date of sometime in 2019 while Overkill’s The Walking Dead has a release date of Nov. 6, 2018 in North America, Nov. 8, 2018 worldwide. However, while Overkill’s The Walking Dead will have StarVR headset support, the original VR demo first shown publicly at E3 2015 will now be its own game. Meaning, there’s no telling who will be the first in the race to deliver the first fully-immersive VR Walking Dead experience to store shelves first.

UndeadWalking.com had an opportunity to interview Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios Global Brand Director/Producer, Almir Listo, back at E3 2015. Now, there will be open-season friendly competition from Archangel VR developer Skydance Interactive to be the Walking Dead VR pioneer so-to-speak.

During last year’s E3, Skybound Entertainment announced its partnership with Skydance Interactive for multiple VR Walking Dead games… The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is just the beginning of what we can expect from the Archangel developer.
