Despite having the name The Final Season, the upcoming The Walking Dead game from Telltale might not actually be the final installment in the game series.

Fans have grown to love Clementine since she made her debut in The Walking Dead: A Telltale Game on April 24, 2012. Her tough, yet optimistic attitude endeared her to millions of gamers, and that love has spanned for three games in the series.

The fourth season of the game series is set to release on August 14, 2018. The one thing scaring fans the most is the title of this game: The Final Season.

That name draws to mind the conclusion of the game series, including Clementine, Javier, A.J., and many others as the curtain draws on a fantastic set of games that gave fans an interactive look into the zombie apocalypse.

However, that may not be the case. During a Comic-Con live stream from IGN, Telltale Games Creative Director Kent Mudle made a very interesting statement about the future of the game series and what that title may actually mean.

"“This season is the end of Clementine’s journey, and that’s as much as I’ll say on that.”"

That answer is far from definitive, but it definitely isn’t closing the door on there being more video games from Telltale Games based on the popular zombie survival franchise and gives gamers who love the series hope that there may be installments coming in the future.
