By Sonya Iryna
AMC has completed the investigation into the allegations made against Chris Hardwick and he has been cleared to return as host of Talking Dead.
According to Hollywood Reporter the investigation of the allegations made against Chris Hardwick is complete and he will be returning to Talking Dead when Fear The Walking Dead returns on August 12th for season 4B. He will resume hosting Talking Dead for both Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead. His show Talking With Chris Hardwick will also be back on the air. Talking was put on hiatus when the allegations first surfaced.
This will be good news to the more than 40,000 fans who signed a petition to reinstate him as the host of Talking Dead. And with Andrew Lincoln leaving The Walking Dead in season 9 fans will need Hardwick’s unique style of Walking Dead therapy more than ever. While the investigation was under way Chris chose to step away from SDCC and not host the Walking Dead and FearTWD panels as he done in the past.

AMC issued a statement saying:
"“Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking With Chris Hardwick. We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”"
Division In The Fandom
It’s been a rough few months for TWDFamily. News of Andrew Lincoln’s leaving, uncertainty about Lauren Cohan’s future with the show and then the allegations made against Chris Hardwick by an ex-girlfriend rocked the fandom causing a lot of hurt feelings, anger, and snarky social media exchanges.
Now that Andrew Lincoln has confirmed that he is leaving The Walking Dead in season 9 and Chris Hardwick has been reinstated as the host of Talking Dead hopefully fans can put their differences of opinion on these divisive issues aside and come together to celebrate the first half of season 9 and all the hard work and effort that the cast and crew have put in to make the show what it has been, steer the show in a new direction, and say a proper farewell to Rick Grimes.
Fear The Walking Dead returns on August 12th and The Walking Dead season 9 begins on October 7.
