The cast of The Walking Dead ran into a familiar face during San Diego Comic-Con who was there promoting her show in Hall H.

There’s nothing like a family reunion to warm the heart, and so it was when the cast of The Walking Dead ran into former cast member Sonequa Martin-Green in between panels at San Diego Comic-Con.

It was a family affair for Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as they ran into Martin-Green at the massive pop culture convention. Martin-Green’s Star Trek: Discovery panel took place immediately following the one-two punch of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead panels, so it’s not surprising that the two casts would bump into each other along the way.

The last time everyone was together was when Martin-Green’s Sasha sacrificed herself in season 7 in hopes of giving her friends in Alexandria the upper hand against the invading Saviors. With help from Eugene, Sasha took a suicide pill while she rode to Alexandria inside a coffin, and by the time the Saviors arrived she was already a Walker. There was a point when Sasha’s plan almost worked, too, as she fell on top of a completely baffled Negan, and that’s when all hell broke loose.

Since her departure, Martin-Green has garnered high praise for her work on the CBS All-Access show Star Trek: Discovery. Fans at the Hall H panel were treated to a first-look at the new season coming next year.

San Diego Comic-Con, like many other pop culture conventions, is a place where members of The Walking Dead cast and crew, both past and present, will run into each other as the actors take on new projects. Former cast members like Michael Rooker and Jon Bernthal frequently bump into The Walking Dead cast at conventions, so it’s like one big family reunion.
