Negan and his barbed wire baseball bat Lucille from The Walking Dead are headed to Tekken 7 for season 2 to take half of their stuff for The Sanctuary.

Fans of fighting games who also enjoy zombie survival dramas are in a for a huge treat as one of the biggest villains to ever grace the AMC’s The Walking Dead will be coming to one of the biggest fighting game series in the world to fight for his life among the existing characters.

Revealed by Bandai Namco at The 2018 Evolution Championship Series in Las Vegas,  the trailer has knocked the socks off gamers and fans of Negan, the former leader of The Saviors, in a great way.

Here is the reveal video showing Negan and others from season 2 of Tekken 7 from the official YouTube channel of Bandai Namco Entertainment America:

Negan joins several others who become available when purchasing the season 2 pass for Tekken 7. Others included in the downloadable content are Anna Williams (a character who made her debut in the Tekken series in 1994), Lei Wulong (a regular since Tekken 2). and three others to be announced.

While it’s great to see faces from former games in the series being added to the already-stellar group of fighters, the fact the series was able to get the rights to add Negan to the mix is a big boost to the series and says a lot about the global popularity of The Walking Dead.

Of all the characters that could have been taken from AMC’s zombie drama series, it is interesting that Negan was chosen. Played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Negan exploded on the scene and gained global popularity in his powerful debut in the program’s seventh season.

Since then, Negan’s popularity has only continued to rise and Morgan has been tabbed for roles in major motion pictures, proving the power his character has in the apocalypse and how recognizable the actor and character have become.
