The Walking Dead merchandise has covered toys, clothing, and pet toys. Daryl’s Squirrels-On-A-Rope is no exception entertaining furry friends.

Author’s note: Before beginning, this review has not been sponsored in any way. The chew toy was purchased from The Woodbury Shoppe which sells other items related to The Walking Dead.

Seasons ago, Daryl Dixon wielded his crossbow with the intent of killing and eating squirrels. If that is not a sign of tough times on The Walking Dead, nothing is.

Back then, the sleeveless, short-haired and motorcycle riding Daryl used these squirrels as his first weapon of choice in his assault against Rick Grimes in response to the bad news that Merle was left on a rooftop in Atlanta.

Since season 1, Daryl has occasionally been seen donning the dead squirrels on a rope. They had been often associated with the character as much as the walker’s ears he wore around his neck.

Someone took that symbol of one of the show’s favorite characters and decided to make it a pet chew toy. Behold Daryl’s Squirrels-On-A-Rope Plush Chew Toy!

The chew toy consists of three bloodied plush squirrels on a thick rope that will squeak and crinkle! The head of each squirrel squeaks while their long, tails crinkle with every touch.

Each plush squirrel is very soft to the touch with The Walking Dead logo stitched to one of the flat tails. The thick rope is strung through the three squirrels where the mouth should be.

Upon initial reaction, a smile is guaranteed at the sight of this adorable and cringeworthy pet toy. Hard to believe but the item is bigger than expected and caught the attention of the patiently waiting pet knowing full well it was intended for him.

Taking the toy outside into the summer air, play time could begin and immediately the toy is bringing joy to the intrigued. Wide-eyed and full of energy, the toy was tossed, pulled and thrown with no end in sight.

The rope feature appears to have been the favorite part for it was the easiest for the dog to grasp especially when playing a little tug of war. When the fun ended, the fabric squirrels became a makeshift pillow for comfort for the tired pup.

Considering the size of the pet toy, the attention to detail and the durability thus far this is probably one of the most unusual, unique and useful The Walking Dead merchandise items to own. It was made with the desire to truly amuse and distract by using core components of any pet toy for long-lasting play.

Of all the toys purchased for man’s best friend, this one took home the trophy for most creative and charming.

True, the sight of seeing patches of fake blood on the dead furry tree climbers can be a bit unsettling, but considering where the concept is coming from, it is far more visually pleasing than The Well Walker Dog Chew Toy.
