The good stuff

  1. Showing alternate survival methods. Eliminating walkers with backpacks or valuable items on their body should be obvious, but it is something that isn’t seen often. However, Morgan has survived on his own long enough that he likely has this entire procedure down to a science! And finding a radio to communicate makes it all even more interesting.
  2. Morgan doesn’t really want to be alone anymore. There was a time when Morgan would have just left on his own to go back to Alexandria or The Kingdom, but the fact he wants to bring these ‘good’ people back with him shows he has made some progress during his time with these new survivors.
  3. Alicia focusing her energy. Her anger and frustration have become a tool for removing the undead. She is using her brain to eliminate walkers so they don’t attack the house where everyone is living and to clear a path for other possible survivors, and it’s unknown whether Strand or Luciana know…or even care.
  4. Introducing other possible survivors. While the people who are tacking notes on the undead may be dead already, it’s interesting that Alicia is so intent on saving them. After losing her brother and her mother, more survivors should be the last thing on her mind. Instead, she’s looking for other lives to save and that has to say something about the future…even if this effort came up empty.
  5. Al plays tough, but she’s a softie. She wouldn’t have let June go check out the breach in the river alone and she darned well wasn’t about to let John go with her. Al can pretend to be indifferent all she wants, but we all know better.
  6. John is just too dang nice! His desire to play a game with Charlie and talk to her even though she may not be ready to do any talking herself says a lot about his character. And the fact Charlie is there at all says that the group may be more willing to forgive than they ever expected.
