Will Alicia Be Able To Go On Alone?

Alicia is still heavily dealing with the loss of her mother and brother. She has been showing similar behavioral patterns that Morgan had in TWD, isolation from others, resisting people’s offers for help. How do you think Alicia will be able to find her state of being “clear ” this season, could Morgan or any of the other characters play a role in that?

Sonya says:

"I think that Alicia needs to face her ambivalence about Charlie. She needs to process her rage and her fear at being left alone. And her sorrow at losing her brother and her mother. She’s in a reactive state right now where’s she’s drawing inward and avoiding being around other people. She’s also avoiding letting anyone get close to her, which is totally understandable. But everyone has had big losses in this world. I see a lot of parallels between Maggie on The Walking Dead and Alicia. Both have lost their entire family. Both were thrust into a leadership role that they never really wanted. Maggie stepped up and became the leader she needed to be and I think that Alicia can do that too. But I think she is going to have to make a conscious decision that she wants to live and go on. She will need to decide to be Madison’s legacy and live the way her mother would have wanted. If she does that, and I think she will, then Alicia will become the kind of powerful force that Maggie has become. I just hope she can do it without losing herself totally."

Sara says:

"Alicia is definitely going through a really hard time right now. It’s not going to be easy for her to make a quick recovery, and sometimes you can’t recover alone. If there is anyone in that group that can help Alicia right now, it’s Morgan. Morgan has been through the same thing that Alicia is going through right now, and he knows that too. We saw Morgan in this episode really trying to get through to Alicia because you can tell he obviously wants to help her and cares a lot about someone who he just met. Morgan doesn’t want Alicia to fall down the dark path that he once did. I really think that Morgan’s sole purpose in the show right now is to help the survivors come together, but more importantly, to help Alicia find her “clear” state of mind in all of the darkness that she has been in recently. Once Alicia finds her “clear” I think she would be extremely capable to become the leader of the group by following in her mother’s footsteps."
