Fans of Alycia Debnam-Carey turns in an Emmy-worthy performance in Fear the Walking Dead episode 410. Here’s why fans need to watch “Close Your Eyes.”

It has been a rough road for Alicia Clark on Fear the Walking Dead. The youngest member of the Clark family has endured the loss of everyone she loves and now she’s struggling to figure out her place in an increasingly uncertain world. So far fans have seen Alycia Debnam-Carey working with her family and the other survivors, but in the Fear the Walking Dead episode “Close Your Eyes” the actress turns in the performance of a lifetime.

Season 4 has been rather divisive for Fear the Walking Dead fans, with roughly half of fans loving the changes while the other half has yet to connect with the show’s new direction. Now that Madison is gone, though, it’s time for Alicia to shine. And shine she does.

The mid-season premiere revealed that Alicia is having trouble fitting in. She is still with Strand and Luciana at their mansion but she’s not living inside, opting instead to live in the pool house. When Morgan visits, he sees that she’s hurting and he offers to take her with him on his trip back to Alexandria. Morgan knows Alicia’s pain all too well and he’d be the perfect person to help her learn to cope, but Alicia is more concerned with going on an ill-fated rescue mission to the lumber factory.

Alicia left Morgan after the lumber factory and that’s when the storm hit, and that’s where “Close Your Eyes” picks up.

“Close Your Eyes” is one of the most raw and visceral episodes to date. Here we see Alicia seeking refuge from the storm in a house. All she wants is to be alone, but she’s far from alone. She’s with the one person she never wants to see again.

Debnam-Carey turns in an amazing performance in this episode. If you’re on the fence about watching the show, tune in for her performance. It’s absolutely worth it, and it’s something that will leave fans talking for seasons to come. This is one of the most emotional episodes to date, with Debnam-Carey delivering an inspired performance in the middle of incredibly challenging circumstances.
