Fear the Walking Dead 410 review: Alicia and Charlie’s journey
The Interesting
The family that lived in the house died of asphyxiation. The chimney was clogged and they died in their sleep from carbon monoxide poisoning. As public service announcements go, this is a great reminder to check your chimney after not using it all summer. It could save your life.

The chimney was blocked by the dead bird and its nest. The dead bird was a nod to the story that Madison told Althea about when Nick and Alicia were young. Alicia is clearly grappling with following her mother’s legacy and at every turn she is reminded of her. In the end, Charlie says she can see Madison in Alicia, and it’s very telling that Alicia didn’t snap at her for saying so. This is a major moment between the two characters.
Alicia wanted revenge but wanted to honor her mother’s legacy at the same time. Charlie wanted to die so as to avoid becoming Infected like her parents, but she also wanted to live. This episode allowed both actresses to show the full range of their incredible acting prowess by taking us on their emotional journey toward a detente.
Fear the Walking Dead returns next week Sunday as we discover what happened when Morgan got stuck in the storm. Be sure to watch episode 411, “Clean,” next Sunday at 9pm on AMC.
