6) John tells Althea that he and June have only seen the dead washing up on the shore of the river once before. This is a reference to the battle they had with a small horde back in the season’s fifth episode, “Laura”.

7) Among the items Morgan’s packing is, one would assume, his helmet, which he wore in “Clear” (And was most famously revealed in his return in The Walking Dead Season Five premiere episode, “No Sanctuary”). Yet, when you look at it, it appears to be one of the riot helmets Rick and company took from the prison. Is it? Or…is that an error?

8) The box of supplies (And a toy?) at the mile marker is reminiscent both of the crate left by Georgie’s group in The Walking Dead Season Eight episode, “The Key”, as well as Aaron’s attempted gift of water in the Season Five episode, “Them, the latter of which, incidentally, also involved the series’ protagonists being set upon by a massive storm.

9) On a side note, was the tree knocked down naturally, or…was it knocked down by whoever left the box?

10) The incident John references in his conversation with Charlie is the fatal shooting of a robber he recounted to June in the flashback episode, “Laura”.
