Fear The Walking Dead delivered a powerful episode with season 4 episode 10 titled “Close Your Eyes” and fans were definitely here for it.
Fear The Walking Dead fans usually have mixed reactions to bottle episodes. But in season 4, the new showrunners have proven that they can create bottle episodes with lots of heart and emotion like the “Laura” episode as well as action driven episodes.
Sunday’s bottle episode “Close Your Eyes” that focused on Charlie and Alicia took bottle episodes to a new level with knockout performances by both actresses. The unique darkly poignant look that director Michael Satrazemis is known for made this episode one of the finest that the series has ever done.
Alycia Debnam-Carey carried almost the entire first half of the episode by herself, which isn’t easy to do, and she did it so well that fans were mesmerized. Alexa Nisenson’s performance as a scared, confused, and traumatized Charlie was also outstanding. Together the two worked through their demons and their losses, as well as coming to terms with the role each has played in getting to the point they are at now.
Alicia had to find a balance between her desire for revenge and her desire to honor her mother by protecting Charlie the way that Madison would have done. Ultimately she vanquished her desire to kill Charlie in revenge for Nick’s death and Madison’s death and she and Charlie set off together to face whatever comes next. Even in a season full of great episodes “Close Your Eyes “stands out as one of the best, and fans were loving this Alicia centered episode as you can see by their reactions:
I feel like this episode is going to remind me of The Grove & not because Alicia will tell Charlie to look at the flowers! Because of the things they’ll have to face emotionally. #FearTheWalkingDead #FearTWD

It's interesting, how Alicia's character has evolved through the series. Look at how she tries to erase this family from her presence. #FearTWD

Somewhere in there, Alicia is still that young woman who did her best to protect Nick even before the ZA. And watching her walk this line between grief and rage is absolutely astonishing. #FearTWD

Alicia finally hearing somebody tell her that there's still that piece of Madison in her, is all she wanted to hear. She isn't letting her mom & Nick down. #FearTWD
