The Walking Dead: Michonne will honor Carl Grimes in a special way in season 9

Carl Grimes will never be forgotten by any of the characters in The Walking Dead, and Michonne will be keeping Carl very close to her in season 9.
It is still such a huge shock that Carl Grimes is gone, and will not be in season 9 of The Walking Dead. With Carl Grimes no longer in the show, fans might want to know just how will the characters in the show commemorate the heroic son of Rick Grimes.
The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang spoke to AMC regarding a lot of fun Easter eggs that can be found in season 9. One very special surprise had to do with Michonne, and how she will be keeping the memory of Carl Grimes very close to her:
"“We see Michonne holding a bloodied baseball bat, looking horrified. Michonne was complicit with Rick in deciding to keep Negan alive for the sake of the future. That decision tied Michonne to Negan and his story, which is something we’ll be exploring this season. And it’s hard to see here, but if you look closely at Michonne’s hair this season, you’ll see she has a small plaid wrap around one of her dreads. That’s a piece of Carl’s shirt, which she’s now wearing to keep his memory close.”"
This is such a beautiful way for Michonne to remember Carl by, especially since the two of them had such a close relationship with one another. Carl Grimes may physically no longer be apart of The Walking Dead anymore, but it’s no doubt that the memory and spirit of him will continue to live on throughout so many characters in the show. Season 9 will most likely show how Rick Grimes is dealing with life as well after Carl’s death, and he will surely find a way to honor his son in the new world.
Season 9 of The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on October 7th, so you will be able to catch up with all of the characters again and find out how they will honor the memory of Carl Grimes.
