Morgan keeps trying to get to Alexandria on Fear the Walking Dead, but every attempt has been thwarted. Will he ever make it back to his friends?

Ever since Fear the Walking Dead returned from hiatus, Morgan has been trying to get to Alexandria. After making the rounds to invite his new friends to join him, he got stuck in a hurricane and then he met some new people and changed his plans. He says he’s going to pick up his Texas friends and then leave for Alexandria with his new trucker friends, but will he actually make it back?

When Morgan arrived on Fear the Walking Dead, the Fear timeline jumped ahead considerably to make it possible for the two worlds to collide. Now The Walking Dead is about to make a jump of its own, moving a year and a half into the future. If Morgan makes it back to Alexandria, he’ll be arriving mere months after he left given that only a month has passed between the events of the Fear mid-season finale and the mid-season premiere. That means that everything will be about the same in Alexandria as when he left; Rick will be alive and well, Maggie will still be pregnant and the TWD gang will be in the early stages of rebuilding.

The second half of season 4 has been built upon this idea that Morgan wants to go back to Alexandria, but things keep happening that prevent him from leaving. As much as he wants to return, it’s important to remember that just because Morgan wants to get back to Alexandria doesn’t mean he’s actually going to make it back. That’s looking much more likely now that Morgan and his new friends are heading back to Texas. The arrival of even more new people, this time with not so noble intentions, could prevent him from getting back at all.

While it looks like Morgan is going to go back to Alexandria, even for a visit, the odds are much more likely that he’s not going to have that opportunity. Not anytime soon, anyway. In fact, Morgan probably had a better chance of making it back had he not turned back after meeting Wendell and Sarah. He should have kept going, because that might have been his big chance to get there.
