Could characters from Fear the Walking Dead cross over to TWD in season 9?

The Walking Dead fan mailbag may have just hinted as to whether or not we will see characters from Fear the Walking Dead crossover to The Walking Dead in season 9.

While crossovers are certainly not a stranger anymore to the Walking Dead universe, fans can’t help but wonder if any more crossovers will be happening between both shows in the near future.

In season 4 ofFear the Walking Dead, Morgan Jones has made his decision to return back home to Virginia, even though at the moment he has run into a little bit of a roadblock. A question was asked in the Walking Dead’s most recent fan mailbag as to whether any characters from Fear the Walking Dead would be crossing over to The Walking Dead in season 9, and the fanmail bag delivered an intriguing answer:

"It’s not impossible. After all, Morgan’s mission in the back half of Season 4 has been to travel back to Alexandria by any means necessary. As we’ve mentioned he’s already found himself in Mississippi, but at the end of last week’s episode he decided to reverse course back to Texas to find his friends before going back to Virginia. We’ll have to wait and see if he actually returns, but since he has openly discussed it – it is possible."

This is very exciting knowing that there may possibly be appearances from Fear the Walking Dead characters in The Walking Dead‘s upcoming 9th season. Since Fear the Walking Dead has been officially renewed for season 5, it’s safe to say that the crossover may not be a majority of the characters. It could possibly just be Morgan returning back on his own and leaving his friends in Texas behind.

The group did tell Morgan that they were not interested in following him back to Virginia, however, in the world of The Walking Dead, there are always surprises.

They say that Virginia is for Lovers, and who isn’t in love with Alicia, Strand, Luciana, John, June, and Althea? Virginia is big enough for all of them and their skills, so why not? While we may not see any Fear characters crossing over to The Walking Dead just yet, it’s very possible that it may happen in a future season.
