Does Anyone Get To Claim The Moral High Ground?

At the end of the episode, June is understandably a little angry that Althea lied about having medication on the van. But, June has lied repeatedly and put people in danger as well. Does anyone really have moral high ground in a post-apocalyptic world?

Sonya says:

"I don’t think June has a right to be angry about Al lying to her. In that world when allegiances shift all the time and everyone is looking out for their own survival first I think it’s got to be expected that people will lie. Ultimately people need each other to survive, so little offenses have to be overlooked so that the bigger goal of staying alive can be achieved."

Sara says:

"It seems like lying is pretty common in the apocalypse, and that’s why trusting someone is a huge risk. It’s hard to tell who you can trust, but perhaps now that June & Althea are getting to know each other, that may not be a problem for them in the future. I think that they are both testing the waters out with each other to see how the other person can measure up."

Sarabeth says:

"At the end of the day the only person you can truly count on in the post-apocalyptic world is yourself. Lying isn’t ideal, but it tends to get the job done when the time calls for it. For Al, if everyone else left her then she would need that van. She survived for years with that van. That van has all of her tapes and it has become part of her. Should she have lied? Probably not, but it was the only way to get June to go. Al would have saved it herself if she was healthy enough to do it."
