Fear The Walking Dead 413: Did everyone survive Blackjack?

There were some close calls in this week’s Fear The Walking Dead including a run in with the new villain that threatened the lives of the group.

Alligators, walkers, and being stalked by the Filthy Woman were causing fans to have major panic attacks during this week’s Fear The Walking Dead “Blackjack”. Thankfully, it seems like all the major characters survived this episode.

At the end of the episode the group of Morgan, Wendall, Sarah, June, Althea and Jim were able to meet up with Luciana. And they got a radio call from Charlie and Alicia, but on their way to double back and get Alicia and Charlie the Filthy Woman, who has Al’s SWAT van, came up on them out of nowhere at a very fast pace.

She pulled alongside the semi and after telling Morgan on the radio that she was going to make them strong she unleashed the guns that Al put on the roof on the semi. Although the episode ended on that note previews for next week show the group from the semi holed up in a building and everyone looks relatively intact, although Luciana is wearing a bandage. So it looks like despite some injuries everyone from the truck will survive the first full on attack by the crazy Filthy Woman who seems hell bent on turning everyone she meets into walkers.

But she is definitely a threat that they are going to have to deal with because she seems have to have focused on Morgan and is determined to make him “strong”.

Strand and John Dorie had a very close call of their own. Currently they are stranded on a small island surrounded by floodwater from the storm. The walkers are coming, but the immediate threat is an alligator that has taken up residence in the water surrounding the island. John built a raft, that promptly sank. And together they tried to sail across the flood waters in a modified camper shell, which was rammed by the alligator and also sank. They barely managed to swim safely back to their position on the island. For now, they are stuck in place. But Morgan is determined not to head for Alexandria without them.

Clayton AKA Polar Bear

The only named character death tonight was a man that Luciana found in a wrecked car. He had been driving in the storm and wrecked. He was gravely injured and had only a little time left to live. Luciana tried to save him, but she could not. She asked him if there was anything she could do for him, and he said that he would love a last beer.

She went to find him one and thought she failed when she came across one of the boxes at the mile markers, which Jim had put a beer in. She used an ice pack from a first aid kit to make it cold for him. They talked briefly before he died and she learned that the man, Clayton, was “Polar Bear” the trucker who had been leaving the boxes. When Wendall and Sarah took his truck he ended up in the car, and died of his injuries after getting his last beer. Farewell Clayton, thanks for leaving the supplies.

With only three episodes left in season 4 the stakes are getting higher for the survivors in Fear The Walking Dead. Will new fan favorites June and John Dorie survive the season? Will Alicia and Charlie find the others? Hopefully some answers are coming next week.
