Daryl Dixon’s top 5 shining moments on The Walking Dead
Saving Carol/Finding Beth
Who can forget when Daryl finds Carol in the prison cellblock back in season 3? During the prison clean out of walkers, Carol got separated from the group after T-Dog sacrificed himself to save her.
The group assumed she was killed and while Daryl was mulling over the horrible realization he noticed a door blocked by a dead walker. Fed up with the noise and prepared to kill the walker on the other side he was dumbfounded to find Carol alive.
Taking her into his arms he carried her out of the cell blocks and to the rest of the group. In typical Daryl fashion, his silence speaks volumes.
The look of both relief and concern was clear. He was already building an already close friendship with Carol.
While Carol’s rescue had a happy ending Beth’s, unfortunately, did not.
After discovering Beth was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Daryl rushed to rescue her. His endless mission to find her is notable.
He chased after the white cross painted car the entire night, asked if anyone had seen her when reunited with the group and threw all caution to the wind to chase a similar car with the survivors of Terminus hiding right around the corner.
The reunion didn’t last as Beth was killed before his eyes, leaving him broken. He carried her dead body out of the hospital in a similar fashion with Carol.
Since then he had carried Beth’s knife in her memory trying to find a way to survive with the tragic reminder that he couldn’t save her.
