Did Jim Redeem Himself In The End?

Jim definitely had his people problems, but in the end, he gave his beer recipe to Sarah & sacrificed himself as a distraction for the rest of the group to get away from the walkers. Do you think that the apocalypse can change people for better or for worse? How do you think it changed Jim?

Sonya says:

"I think when people experience what it’s like to truly live at survival level they have to face some hard truths about themselves. And then they need to decide who they want to be and what they want their lives to mean. Jim never really grasped the finality of that world until he was bitten. And I’m pleased that in the end he wanted his life, and his death, to mean something and to help others."

Sara says:

"The apocalypse can change a person based on how they want to be in that world. Do they want to be someone who people can trust & look to for help, or will they end up being egotistical and cold? We have definitely seen that play out on both shows. It really depends on how someone wants to be in this world, no one makes those choices for them but themselves.  I think that Jim realized in the end that it was better to leave the world as someone who wouldn’t be remembered as a jerk. Even in that small amount of time, he realized what was the right thing to do."

Sarabeth says:

"In a weird way I think Jim was more concerned about his legacy even in the end. He wanted to help the group but in doing so he was focused on saving his beer recipe. But I do believe that the apocalypse can change people for both better and worse. The Filthy Woman will be their biggest test yet because they will try to help her but she might be past redemption."
