The Walking Dead stars took to the red carpet in LA on Thursday night for the official premiere of The Walking Dead season 9’s first episode “A New Beginning”.
With just over a week to go until The Walking Dead officially returns for season 9 the excitement is high even with the coming departures of Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan. On Thursday night in LA The Walking Dead season 9 got an official kickoff with premiere party and viewing of the first episode of season 9 “ A New Beginning”. And of course, fans has a lot of feelings about seeing their favorites ditching their post-apocalyptic wardrobes and dropping lots of tidbits to the press about the upcoming season.
There’s good reason for the excitement. After a long and troubled hiatus fans have once again come together to celebrate the rebirth of the show and to celebrate the beloved characters, like Rick Grimes, who have made the show what it is. Knowing that Andrew Lincoln is leaving after just a few episodes of season 9 could have started the season on a down note. But new showrunner Angela Kang has injected the show with the emotion and nuance that made fans from many different backgrounds love this survival tale in the first place.
The Walking Dead season 9’s first episode “ A New Beginning” really is a new beginning for the show, for the story, for the fans, and also for the cast and crew. There were a lot of new faces among the fan favorites on the red carpet but all of them were visibly excited about the new season and very eager for fans to see it.
