Scott Gimple teases new Walking Dead project on Talking Dead
By Sonya Iryna
Could there be another The Walking Dead spinoff on the horizon? Scott Gimple dropped a hint about a something big coming soon on Talking Dead.
Fear The Walking Dead wrapped up a strong season 4 and on Talking Dead afterward CCO Scott M. Gimple, who now oversees the entire The Walking Dead universe, teased that a big announcement about an addition to that universe could be coming soon.
When talking about the worlds of The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead on Talking Dead following the Fear The Walking Dead season 4 finale Scott Gimple said that there would soon be something big for the fans to talk about. With The Walking Dead season 9 premiere just a week away could an announcement about a new spinoff or a new crossover be on the way?
At the end of the Fear The Walking Dead season 4 finale fans saw Morgan and the others decide not to head to Virginia but to stay in the area and help the people there, going out on nomadic trips to provide food, water, security, and medical care to any survivors in the area that needed it. It’s possible that a new spinoff could be introduced by the Fear group finding a new community, or finding some characters from the original Walking Dead who have gone missing like Heath or possibly Dwight.

There are many possibilities for future The Walking Dead shows and films because AMC has said that the network is committed to at least ten more years of The Walking Dead shows and films that are set in the broader world of the zombie apocalypse.
Another Spinoff?
There have been rumors of another spinoff being announced swirling in the fandom since SDCC over the summer but there hasn’t been anything official announced. But based on Scott Gimple’s Talking Dead comments tonight it sounds like an official announcement about whatever the next Walking Dead project is might be coming up along with The Walking Dead season 9 premiere.
Fear The Walking Dead has been a solid performer, and after a soft reboot this season has really upped the ante for any potential future Walking Dead spinoffs. With so many stories left to tell and so many areas of the post-apocalypse world that haven’t been explored it’s exciting to think that there could be another corner of the apocalypse to explore soon.
