The Walking Dead: AMC releases the first five minutes of 901
With a week before The Walking Dead season 9 premiere, AMC released the first five minutes of the season premiere on You Tube.
It’s a brave new world for the world of The Walking Dead as seen in the first five minutes of the season 9 premiere. AMC released the opening minutes on Sunday night during the season finale of Fear the Walking Dead, hoping to keep the excitement for the new season rolling.
With an 18-month jump into the future, The Walking Dead looks a lot different in season 9. Alexandria has become a thriving farm community. There are crops and a newly framed church being built. The windmill has been built.
The opening minutes reveal a very talkative Judith and a doting Michonne. Rick goes for a walk with his family and if you didn’t know any better there is no apocalypse and there are no threats. Life is peaceful and idyllic.
That’s not the case at the Sanctuary. Their crops are dead but they’re using the corn to make ethanol under Eugene’s guidance. Daryl is there in a garage where the vehicles are receiving maintenance.
Tara rides a horse along the road while Jesus and Aaron work to clear walkers. Aaron asks if Jesus can teach him to fight and he offers him a kid’s class to audit at the Hilltop. Aaron radios to Jerry, who is also on a horse. Daryl rides through as he makes his way to the designated rally point.
The opening scene wraps up with our first look at the entire group together in the streets of Washington, DC. Rick and Michonne ride ahead to clear the walkers. Rick has a club that resembles Lucille while Michonne has her trusty blade. The rest of the group rides behind them and we see members of the Hilltop, Kingdom and Alexandria working together. Maggie rides in a carriage, Ezekiel and Carol are on horseback and Daryl rides along on his bike. We also see a one-eyed Father Gabriel.
It might only be five minutes but the clip offers a lot of information to fans who have been hungry for more tidbits from season 9, which arrives on October 7.
