Reason to help #3: It’s the first step to building a group.

I mentioned earlier how, by helping someone, you might be able to convince them to help you in return. Well, if you can do this with enough people, you might be able to form an actual group.

Now, I’ve gone on at length before of the benefits of having a group in a zombie apocalypse, so, I’ll be quick here: Humans have always operated in groups, there’s strength in numbers, and, the more people you have, the more you can stop “just surviving” and start thriving.

Of course, this all starts when you make the choice to help people, it shows them that you’re someone they could, potentially, trust (something that’s tough to come by in the apocalypse), it shows you’re looking at the bigger picture, and, not surprisingly, it shows you’re willing to go out on a limb to help others.

While it can be risky, if the reward is creating a strong group, it’ll be worth it.
