Fear The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: To help or not to help?
By Liam O'Leary
Reason NOT to help #3: You can die trying.
While the potential rewards for helping someone in a zombie apocalypse can be high, so too can the risks. I mean, considering what we’re talking about…this shouldn’t be a shock.
Every time you go to help someone, you could be putting yourself in danger. If you’re needing to help them in the first place, it probably means they’re under threat, and if they aren’t, it means they are the threat.
Are you willing to run into a gang of zombies to save someone? You may have to at some point, and no one is guaranteeing you’ll succeed.
What you need to do, heartless as it sounds, is assess how likely you think you are to succeed at saving the other person and getting out without a bite. If you think it’s suicide…it probably is. Sometimes, even when the reward is high, the risk might be too much.
And that’s our survival rule of the week!! Hopefully, it’ll help you give you that mental edge that will prove so crucial once the dead start eating everyone.
