Our panel breaks down that intense Fear The Walking Dead season 4 finale and speculates on what’s ahead for the group in season 5.

Fear The Walking Dead ended season 4 on a strong note with the group back together and determined to make a difference for the survivors in the area that were struggling. It was a long road for them to come together after the tumultuous events of the season and the huge losses of Nick Clark and Madison Clark. Strand, Luciana, and Alicia still need to process their grief but they are doing what Madison would have wanted them to do and that will help them come to terms with their losses.

Alicia taking on a big sister role for Charlie will help her accept her loss too, even though Charlie killed Nick. Alicia has found purpose again by becoming a leader like her mother and by protecting Charlie the way her mother did even after they found out that Charlie was the one who led Mel and Ennis to the stadium and kicked off the events that led to Madison’s death and later to Nick’s death.

The new characters are finding their feet as a cohesive group despite shifting allegiances throughout the season. Fans loved the new characters, especially John Dorie and June. But Wendell and Sarah, Althea, and Morgan all fit right into the misfit band. And even though Martha the Filthy Woman wasn’t the most evil villain in The Walking Dead universe she definitely was memorable.

Fear The Walking Dead season 4 divided a lot of the fans of the show in much the way that fans of The Walking Dead were divided over the shift in stories and focus from season 2 to season 3. But most fans, our panel included, felt that season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead was a fantastic soft reboot of the show that gave it focus, cohesion, an exciting new look, and the characters and stories we’ve wanted since the beginning. For the final Fear The Walking Dead panel of season 4 our panelists look at the season overall and what could be coming in Fear The Walking Dead season 5:
