If you’re a Whovian that wants to catch the Doctor Who premiere but you also want to watch The Walking Dead premiere here’s how you can watch both.
What a dilemma for fans of The Walking Dead and Doctor Who! The new seasons of both shows premiere on Sunday and both are pretty huge. Doctor Who is kicking off the new season with the first appearance by Jodie Whittaker, who is the first woman in history to play The Doctor.
And The Walking Dead season 9 kicks off Sunday as well with a huge episode that jumpstarts the story 18 months after the end of All Out War. New showrunner Angela Kang has promised a return to the emotional connections between the characters that fans have been wanting in addition to a new look, new scarier walkers, and a general upgrade of the entire show.
Doctor Who used to air on Saturday nights in the US on BBC America but the show is moving to a Sunday night time slot this season. But that doesn’t mean that you have to choose one or the other to watch even if you don’t have a DVR. As AMC’s Walking Dead account tweeted recently you can still watch both on Sunday:
That’s because the world premiere of the new season of Doctor Who is going to be shown on a global simulcast early on Sunday afternoon. It will also air again on Sunday night in the new time slot it will occupy this season. But if you want to watch both Doctor Who and The Walking Dead you can watch the global simulcast of Doctor Who “The Woman Who Fell To Earth” at 1:45 PM EST on BBC America. The Walking Dead season 9 premiere is on AMC at 9 PM EST.
