It looked like fans might not ever get a conclusion to The Walking Dead: The Final Season but Skybound has stepped in to ensure the game gets finished.

Gamers who are hoping to get an end to Clementine’s story in The Walking Dead: The Final Season have been very nervous since there is a chance the game was going to be shelved while Telltale Games got their company figured out.

Things got so bad that the game was actually removed from digital stores and the season pass was unable to be purchased as well, meaning the dates initially released for the final two episodes of the game had no definite timetable.

At New York Comic Con, Skybound made the announcement that they will be picking up the game to ensure it gets finished…however the tweet announcing the news is quite cryptic as well:

“Continue Clem’s story” is an interesting way of saying things. With The Final Season expected to be her final appearance in the game series, Skybound picking up the game means they could alter the expected outcome and continue to make games featuring the popular character if they choose to.

Also, if Skybound has purchased the property outright, that means fans could see Clementine come to the world of the comics or possibly the two hit television shows.

But before speculating as what the future holds for Clementine and the game series, it’s good to know that a company who cares about the franchise, as well as the experience of the game itself, will be making sure The Final Season gets done right.

Episode 1 and 2 of The Final Season have already been released and this move should ensure that Episode 3 and 4 get made as well.

More details on Skybound’s involvement in The Final Season will be released later, but this is exciting news for those who have played through the entirety of the series to this point.
