The good stuff from TWD 901

  1. A rebuilt Alexandria. Last time fans saw the community, it was blown to bits by The Saviors. Now, it has a new spiked wooden gate, horses, rebuilt buildings, crops growing and more to make it seem like an actual thriving community again.
  2. A family is what you make it. Carl and Lori may be gone, but Michonne, Rick, and Judith are an adorable family. The scene involving Judith’s artwork as well as the walk through the field showcases just how much these three individuals mean to each other.
  3. Walkers are freakier than ever. Some have decayed to the point of being absolutely disgusting while others have become homes to bugs, spiders, and other living creatures. Still, they remain as a threat even though many are struggling to get around as well as freshly reanimated corpses.
  4. Seeing the fallout. While Ken did choose to save the horse by risking his own life, watching his parents struggle to accept the loss is a part of The Walking Dead that minor characters rarely get. Seeing Maggie break that news was heartbreaking, and reminds viewers it isn’t just the core characters who are loved or important to the group. Plus, Brett Butler is AMAZING as Tammy.
  5. Pillow talk. The FAMOUS Rick Grimes. If you can’t be with someone who can’t bust your balls every once in a while, then it’s not a great relationship. Seeing Michonne and Rick like this strengthens their bond not only as a couple but as a family as well.
  6. Law and Order. Maggie is right. People can only have so many chances and do so many bad things before they lose rights. He would have killed Maggie in cold blood, so she used him as an example in front of Rick, Michonne, and the people of The Hilltop to keep order. It’s a brutal example to make, but one that had to be done.
