The Walking Dead family to honor Scott Wilson with Spaghetti Tuesday on Wednesday

The Walking Dead family is choosing to honor Scott Wilson in a special way this week. Here’s how you can join in.
The Walking Dead universe dimmed a little bit this week with the passing of Scott Wilson. While tributes from those who knew him and loved him poured in on social media fans pondered how they could honor Scott and the character he brought to life on The Walking Dead Hershel Greene.
As Rick’s father figure and really a father figure to all of us Hershel has a presence that continues to impact the characters on The Walking Dead and continues to impact fans. Hershel’s quotes have become part of The Walking Dead lexicon and reminder to us all of the simple but profound lessons in life.
Who hasn’t told themselves “We all have jobs to do” when facing a particularly difficult moment or crisis? Or wanted to buy a pocket watch, the quintessential symbol of Hershel and all that he stood for? Or teared up whenever Hershel said “Hi honey” in a voice resonant with love to Maggie or Beth on The Walking Dead? OK maybe that’s just me. We all have jobs to do. And now our job is to honor the legend that was Scott Wilson and the beloved character of Hershel Greene, our collective moral compass. The fans that loved Hershel and Scott are banding together this Wednesday to pay tribute to him in the best way they know: Spaghetti Tuesday on Wednesday.
“Internment”
Throughout Hershel’s arc on The Walking Dead Scott Wilson delivered strong performances. But the most profound performance he gave was in season 4’s “Internment” episode. Hershel exhausted himself as he battled the pandemic in the prison trying to save Glenn, and Sasha, and Lizzie, and as many others as he could. It was a stunning performance that was Hershel’s finest hour.
In that episode Hershel is helping Sasha, who is deathly ill, and he declares that the prison will now have Spaghetti Tuesday every Wednesday, just as soon as they can find some spaghetti. So that’s what fans are going to do to honor Scott Wilson and show their love for Hershel Greene.
How To Participate
This Wednesday, October 10th, make spaghetti. That’s all. It can be fancy homemade spaghetti, or it can be spaghetti from a can. It doesn’t matter. Make some spaghetti. Then get on Twitter or Instagram and post photos of your spaghetti using the hashtags: #SpaghettiForScott #SpaghettiTuesdayEveryWednesday and #TWDFamily.
