The Walking Dead season 9 premiere panel discussion

Should The Sanctuary Have Been Disbanded?
Some of The Saviors are still loyal to Negan. Do you think that the communities should have split up the survivors from Sanctuary and assigned them to the other communities instead of leaving them at The Sanctuary?
Sonya says:
"I don’t think that the problem is with the workers at The Sanctuary. I think the rebellion is coming from The Saviors who were enjoying a pretty privileged existence and are having a little trouble accepting the new world order. I don’t think that the workers should have been split up or placed elsewhere when they have a good community where they are but it might have been smart to separate out The Saviors to prevent them from organizing a rebellion."
Sara says:
"That definitely sounds like a better decision. The Sanctuary reeks with Negan’s regime still and I don’t think those still loyal to Negan will be able to forget him so easily behind the Sanctuary walls. The remaining Saviors should be divided amongst the other communities."
Sarabeth says:
"I think the Saviors would have been fine if all of their needs had been met from the start. They’re being kept helpless and for those who are able to understand why that’s the case they are working within the system. But it’s a bitter pill for the Saviors who were used to having whatever they wanted. So it doesn’t really matter where they are, it’s a matter of making sure they have what they need. Unfortunately, after 18 months they still find conditions to be lacking and so they want their old leader back, and this is the problem with Negan being alive."
