The Good stuff from TWD 902

  1. Rick keeping Negan up to date. Being locked away might be the right thing for Negan right now, but that doesn’t mean he needs to be oblivious to anything happening outside of those walls. Rick’s talks not only help to clear his own head, but to keep Negan up to speed in case one day he does get released.
  2. King dad and mom Carol! Ezekiel is acting like a father figure and Carol is motherly to Henry, who has lost his family during season 8. The King thanks him for his help as if he were an adult and gives him hope for the future by saying he will tell his grandkids about it one day. This is the man The Kingdom and everyone who meets says is a true leader, and he shows it often.
  3. Keeping in contact with Georgie. Rebuilding society isn’t easy and getting more tips and staying in touch with the people who got The Hilltop the manuals for planning is definitely a good thing. While we still don’t know much about their civilization, trust continues to grow between the two groups, opening the door for the future.
  4. Maggie listening. Earl and Tammy are a hard couple to deal with. Both can be stubborn, but Earl is a huge asset to the community. When she finally allowed her to see her husband, it opened Maggie’s eyes as to what she was doing and allowed her to see the personal side of things, which should always be used when passing judgement. And the tie-in with Hershel was nice as well.
  5. Knowing when to throw in the towel. Maggie was right. Keeping Gregory around after all he has done makes no sense. He showed no sign of adjusting to the new way of life and contributed nothing after being given multiple opportunities. While a public execution was harsh, it was definitely not unwarranted.
  6. Just roll with it. Using the logs to knock down or even kill the walkers approaching the group collecting wood was a smart move for Rick. It also showcased his shooting, missing with the first shot before connecting with this second to break the rope. And that walker’s head getting crushed was something of beauty for fans of gore!
