1) As the episode begins, we see that Father Gabriel’s church is still being rebuilt following its destruction back in the Season Eight midseason finale, “How It’s Gotta Be”. This raises the question of how far in the future this episode is supposed to be.

2) As Rick wakes up, he finds Michonne helping Judith with her paintings. In several of them, we see her depiction of Carl with his eyepatch; It’s possible she doesn’t remember a time where he didn’t have it.

3) When we’re taken to The Sanctuary, we see Regina limping as she inspects things. Her limp is a lingering effect of being shot by Rosita after learning Eugene had tampered with The Saviors’ bullets in the Season Eight finale, “Wrath”.

4) While communicating with Eugene, Tara passes beneath a highway sign that has been spray-painted with the label “Route A” in bright red letters. It seems the communities have taken to marking the roads so travelers from the various communities can find their way from one to the next.

5) Just before the title sequence, Rick, Daryl, and most of the prominent members of the cast enter Washington. Despite being in the D.C. area since the end of Season Five, this is the first time we’ve seen anyone enter the city, ever.

6) Near the beginning of the title sequence, the stained glass window (Seen throughout the flashforwards to the Season Eight finale episode, “Wrath”) is featured prominently.

7) Right around the point in the title sequence where Tom Payne’s name appears, as you see Lucille and Rick’s magnum resting on a pile of dirt, you can see the words “Final Warning” scrawled on a wall in the background. Is this foreshadowing something?

8) Later in the title sequence (After Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s name appears), we see a barn get built up in fast-forward. As it gets built, the last edition is a noose. Hmm…I wonder if that is foreshadowing anything?
