Rick Grimes is dealing with a lot while trying to bring the communities together, earning him the title of MVP from season 9 episode 2 of The Walking Dead!

Season 9 of The Walking Dead has been showing the successes and struggles of bringing together the communities following the conclusion of All-Out War and examining how the different groups will feel about one another.

Episode 902 brought forth a ton of different stories and plotlines, even filling in on what has been going on through flashbacks in storytelling while also giving a peek into what is going on with Negan inside his cell.

However, only one individual earned the right to be the Most Valuable Person from season 9 episode 2 titled “The Bridge”. After much consideration, the choice was made.

THE MVP FROM THE WALKING DEAD 902 IS RICK GRIMES!

Last week, Maggie used her authority to make some tough decisions and do what she thought was right for her people. This week, it was Rick’s turn to do his best to bring everyone together, including the reluctant people from The Sanctuary.

He worked hard to maintain order at The Bridge when Daryl was overly aggressive with a member of The Saviors. He gathered a group to save the people gathering lumber when the second claxon didn’t sound to draw walkers away, and, of course, he was innovative in using the lumber pile as a weapon to eliminate the undead.

With so much for Rick to organize and some tough decisions to be made, he is always looking for ways to keep his people safe while looking ahead to the future without forgetting about the past, as is evidenced by him visiting Negan in his cell.

Rick’s decision to lock up Negan instead of killing him was made even stronger when it was shown that he visits the former leader of The Saviors to tell him about how the building of the new world is going, and not telling only the positives but also sharing the struggles.

Everything from this episode had Rick’s fingerprints on it, making the decision for MVP pretty easy. However, there were some other options like Enid for learning medical procedures and executing Aaron’s arm amputation and Ezekiel for stepping up to be a father figure to Henry as well as finally getting Carol to put on the ring.
