Henry lost his entire family at the hands of The Saviors but found a new family in King Ezekiel and Carol during season 9 of AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Negan and The Saviors changed the world of The Walking Dead forever, killing many characters and destroying civilizations at the same time. However, the healing has started during season 9 and finding family is one of the biggest ways to heal.

One of the characters most impacted by All-Out War was Henry, a young man who lost his mother during the outbreak, his father died at the hands of The Saviors during an assault on an outpost, and his brother was shot by Jared of The Saviors.

All alone, Henry was lost for a bit. With help from Morgan, Carol, and Ezekiel, he was able to compose himself and continue to find a role and a home for himself in the zombie apocalypse.

Following the time jump, it is apparent that Carol and Ezekiel are still a huge part of Henry’s life. The King has taken on a fatherly role to the young man while Carol is the mother figure, creating a great family dynamic.

Between the inspirational speech from Ezekiel and the adorable kiss on the cheek for Carol, this is an interesting development and something that is good for every character involved. With each of them experiencing major losses and feeling alone at times, having others to lean on will be a huge boost for them all.

Carol is finally wearing Ezekiel’s ring, meaning this family is closer than ever. Ezekiel joked about Henry heading off to college one day, and with how powerful this family unit could be, it is definitely possible.
